KUALA LUMPUR: The six-month-old baby boy of the Japanese couple who was killed after being electrocuted in their apartment in Mont Kiara has been handed over to his grandmother.
Social Welfare Department director-general Datuk Norani Mohd Hashim said the baby boy was handed over to his grandmother yesterday.
“The case is now considered closed (on our part),” she said at the National Population and Family Development Board office yesterday.
The bodies of Matsumoto Keitaro, who was a factory manager in Shah Alam, and his wife Matsumoto Yukari, both 38, were discovered by the maid who arrived at the 13th floor apartment at 10am on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Energy Commission has begun an investigation into the incident, believed to be caused by a faulty water heater.
