IPOH: The family of a man who was trapped between some window panes and died of suffocation during an alleged house break-in attempt here in July wants an inquest into his death as they believed he was beaten up.
This follows the High Court’s decision to dismiss the application by the man’s father, Mohd Damanhuri Mohd Fuad, 50, for a second post-mortem on his son Sherol Aizam.
Mohd Damanhuri said he was not happy that there were no answers to the bruises allegedy found on his son’s body.
Sherol Aizam, 27, was found dangling from between the window panes of his neighbour’s house in Taman Saz, Silibin near here on July 20.
His family has yet to claim his remains from the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital mortuary.
Mohd Damanhuri, a businessman, told The Star he will not bury his son “until justice is served”.
His lawyer Mohd Fitri Asmuni told reporters thay they would file for an appeal or request for an inquest.
This is expected to be done today. Judge Datuk Zainal Adzam Abd Ghani said a pathologist report had shown that Sherol Aizam died of breathing difficulties due to postural asphyxia – which occurs when someone’s position prevents him from breathing adequately – as well as three types of drugs in his body.
