KUALA LUMPUR: The police are looking at adopting some of the latest technology showcased at an industrial security, fire and safety exhibition.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, who opened the IFSEC Southeast Asia 2013 yesterday, said he was impressed by some of the innovations displayed there and would consider purchasing the gadgets for the force.
“I am in full support of such exhibitions, which provide solutions for personal, home and even office safety,” he told reporters.
“If we subscribe to new technology such as these, it can help prevent crime and reduce our risk of becoming victims.”
The International Fire and Security Exhibition and Conference (IFSEC Southeast Asia), held until today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, is a security event which brings together international security technology vendors.
Among the gadgets and services provided include surveillance video cameras, fire detectors and biometric systems.
