KUALA LUMPUR: A security guard and his wife are appealing to the public to help locate their missing daughter.
B.R.R. Ruban, 73, said his daughter Margret left home to live with her boyfriend at a flat unit in Sentul here two years ago.
Even so, the 42-year-old former clerk had always telephoned or visited him and his wife Mary Mecdelin, 65, at their home in Petaling Jaya.
“But we have not heard from her since June last year,” he told a press conference arranged by MCA Public Services and Complaints Department head Datuk Seri Michael Chong yesterday.
Ruban said he had tried calling his daughter’s cellphone but it was switched off.
He lodged a missing person’s report on June 15 last year.
“I then headed to the company in Shah Alam, where she worked, to look for her and was told that my daughter had been absent for some time,” he said, adding that even Magret’s boyfriend, whom he had met once, could not be contacted.
Margret is the ninth of his 13 children.
“We hope Margret can at least give us a call to let us know that she is safe and sound,” said Ruban, with his wife weeping by his side.
Those with information on Margret’s whereabouts can contact Chong at 03-2203 3888.
