300 Rise Of An Empire

300 Rise Of An Empire
Since everyone pretty much gets killed in the movie “300″ how do you go about making a follow-up?

300: Rise of an Empire” has a solution: just do a prequel.

The new movie looks like the kind of thing that will satisfy fans who had been plunged into a deep depression since the end of Starz’s “Spartacus.” Maybe there will be a sequel/prequel to that too? If they can do one for the “300,” why not?

“300: Rise of An Empire” is based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel “Xerxes,” and borrows the graphic novel style of the “300,” which was graphic in a lot of ways that have nothing to do with comics.

The new film tells the story of the Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) as he battles Persian forces led by the god-king Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro)  and the commander Artemisia (Eva Green), who gives the movie a female presence lacking in the first film (unless you count Lena Headey who played the Spartan Queen, Gorgo, and reprises her role here).
